Public Health Laboratories PHL

BARPUS

  • Implement and evaluate the national, regional, and continental PHL systems and the national reference laboratory (influenza, meningitis, genomic surveillance, etc.).
  • Support for the organization and operation of PHL systems, including private, university, research, animal health, and environmental laboratories;
  • Country support for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance
  • Facilitate/organize the workshop on IDSR, biosafety-biosecurity, secure transport of infectious substances, and the use of diagnostic tests (rapid tests, molecular biology, sequencing, and bioinformatics) as part of the "One Health" approach;
  • Design and construction of mobile modular laboratories for interventions in difficult-to-access areas
  • Support for countries in the research and development of diagnostic tests (development, evaluation, validation, training in use, etc.)
  • Support for countries in the joint external evaluation (JEE) and the development of National Health Security Action Plans (NHSAP), particularly in the areas of the laboratory system, biological safety, and security, RAM, One Health
  • Development of partnerships with international reference laboratories for innovative technology transfer and training
